The Next Generation Colposcope with an Advanced Cervical Scan.

Women with abnormal Pap smears can now access new advanced cervical imaging technology!

An important new cervical imaging system that gives doctors real-time data when testing women with
abnormal Pap smears will soon be available! Advanced Women’s Healthcare @ NCH is one of only ten centers
in the Chicago area that will offer this state-of-the-art testing (although the device is installed in over 70 centers
in Europe and has been recommended by the National Institute of Health and Care Excellence in the UK).

Each year more than 12,000 U.S. women are diagnosed with cervical cancer and the diagnostic procedure
(colposcopy) used after an abnormal Pap smear has not changed since the 1920s – until now.

The DySISTM Advanced Cervical Imaging System provides doctors with a color-coded map – somewhat
like a weather map. DySIS uses a patented technology called Dynamic Spectral Imaging to highlight areas
of the cervix that may need further investigation with a biopsy.

Early detection of pre-cancerous areas ensures earlier treatment while lesions are small and can prevent
the need for more invasive procedures.
